About Scootboots
What are Scootboots made of?
Scootboots are made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), a light and very durable material.
How long do Scootboots last?
Lifespan depends on the horse’s weight, the terrain, gait and movement pattern, and how you care for the boots. On average a pair of Scootboots lasts around 1,000 km (620 miles).
What is the difference between Regular and Slim?
Regular and Slim are the same length but different widths: Slim is 10 mm narrower than Regular and therefore often fits the hind hooves. The measurements for every size are in the size chart.
How much do Scootboots weigh?
One boot weighs around 250 g on average, depending on size.
Which sizes are available?
Scootboots come in 26 sizes, from Mini for the smallest ponies up to size 11. The smallest size fits hooves from 80 mm long and 75–80 mm wide, the largest hooves up to 160 mm long and 155–175 mm wide. All measurements are in the size chart.
Can I use Scootboots 24/7?
Yes, once the boots are broken in and fit well. New Scootboots first need to shape to the horse’s hooves, just like new shoes, so start with shorter sessions. Daily hoof care applies as usual: take the boots off, check and clean the hooves every day.
Where are Scootboots made?
Scootboots are made in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Size and fit
How do I find the right size?
Measure the length and width of the hoof right after a trim and compare with the size chart, or use our interactive size guide. The fitting guide shows you how to check the fit.
Not sure? Email photos of the hooves and the measurements to info@scootboots.se and we will help you find the right size before you buy – free of charge.
What should I keep in mind with new boots?
Scootboots need to be broken in, just like a new pair of shoes. Use the boots for shorter periods until they have shaped and stretched to your horse’s hooves.
Try new boots on a clean surface with a plastic bag or sock around the hoof until you know the size is right – then you can exchange them if needed.
Can I stretch the boots myself?
Yes, the heel straps can be stretched with a heat gun or hot water. Watch stretching with a heat gun and stretching with boiling water, or see the whole collection on the Instruction videos page.
Only stretch boots you know are the right size – reshaped boots count as used if returned.
Can I use ice studs in Scootboots?
Yes. Use our Ice Studs, which are screwed into the sole after pre-drilling. Watch the instruction video.
Can I fit larger studs with drive-in nuts?
Yes, with a drive-in nut, washer and stud. In this video a reseller shows how it is done with a drill and drive-in nuts. Drive-in nuts, studs and washers are available in our web shop.
Trimming
How often should the horse be trimmed?
A barefoot hoof is individual and many factors affect hoof growth and quality. We recommend 4–6 weeks between trims – little and often rather than a lot and seldom.

Then send the goods back with trackable shipping to Scootboots c/o Swedcirc AB, Silkesvägen 43, 331 53 Värnamo, Sweden (not to a pick-up point). You pay the return shipping. What warranty do Scootboots have?
Under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act you have a three-year right to complain about defects that were present from the start, counted from the day you received the goods. In addition, the manufacturer Scootboot Pty Ltd gives a 90-day warranty from the date of purchase. The warranty does not cover normal wear, incorrect use, the wrong size or boots that have been modified, for example with a heat gun. The full terms are in our terms of purchase.
How do I make a complaint?
