Find the right model and size
Answer a few questions and we will give you a personal recommendation.
Step 1 of 5
What will the boots be used for?
The area of use determines which model fits best.
What type of rehab?
Step 2 of 5
Does the horse have low, underrun heels?
This affects the choice of model and accessories.
i
What are low, underrun heels?
The heels are the rear part of the hoof. When they are low and angled forward under the hoof (underrun), the hoof angle becomes too flat. This strains the deep digital flexor tendon and may require a wedge pad — a wedge-shaped insert that raises the heels and restores the correct hoof angle.

Step 3 of 5
Do you want an adjustable rear strap?
An adjustable strap suits high or low heels. A fixed strap suits an optimal heel height, but can also be reshaped by boiling the boot in water for 2–3 minutes and moulding the rear strap to the unique hoof of your horse.
Step 4 of 5
Enter the hoof measurements
Measure a freshly trimmed hoof, up to 14 days after trimming, for correct sizing. See how to measure →
Length: measure from the tip of the toe to the end of the heel buttress — not to the bulbs
Width: measure horizontally across the widest points of the hoof
Most common mistake: measuring the length too far back. Measure to the end of the heel buttress, not to the bulbs — a measurement that is too long gives a boot that is too big.
Important: The size guide gives a recommendation based entirely on the information you provide. This means the length and width of the hoof must be measured correctly according to the instructions. If in doubt, contact your farrier or our customer service info@scootboots.se.

Disclaimer: The size guide suggests a model and size based entirely on the information you have provided. This means the length and width of the hoof must be measured correctly according to the instructions. For correct sizing the hoof should be measured freshly trimmed.
How to measure the hoof correctly
Use a ruler or measuring tape. Always measure a freshly trimmed hoof for best results.
1Length
Start with 0 mm at the tip of the toe and measure straight back to the end of the heel buttress.
2Width
Measure horizontally between the widest points of the hoof.
Tips for the best measurement
- Lift the hoof and measure from underneath on a flat surface
- Measure 1–2 days after trimming for consistent values
- Measure both front hooves — they can differ in size
- Use millimetres (mm), not centimetres, for best precision
